ETCIC is looking for the next generation of Environmental Technologists to join Hull's MSc in Environmental Technology. This multi-disciplinary programme is run by the University of Hull's Department of Geography in conjunction with the ETCIC. Environmental technology is not only a dynamic field originating in the search for alternatives to fossil fuel and drive to reduce waste and pollution, but also now a major industrial sector in its own right. ![]() Students will gain an interdisciplinary understanding of technical, scientific and social science aspects of environmental technology. Taught modules address specific issues, concepts and knowledge relevant to various aspects of environmental technology including renewable energy, waste management and eco-design. Research skills offered include geographical information systems (GIS), mathematical modelling and chemical analysis. Research experience will provide in-depth understanding and knowledge of the chosen area of study along with a range of practical and intellectual skills. The programme is available for both full time (for one year) or part time study (over two years). Suitable career options following study include waste management, environmental management, environmental technology industry and environmental consultancy. The course could also be undertaken in preparation for a PhD. This programme offers a choice of approaches to environmental technology, covering design, computer based technologies and biological and chemical analytical technique application in environmental areas. Applications are still welcome for entry in September 2006. However, non-EU nationals who require a visa to enter or remain in the UK are advised to consider applying for September 2007. At this stage applications for the MSc should be directed to Dr. Pauline Deutz. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
