University of Hull
ETCIC accredited specialist with MAS
Monday, 02 October 2006

ETCIC is celebrating a recent success in becoming accredited with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).

The recent announcement means that ETCIC can now deliver MAS supported projects alongside its other technologies and services to business. These will specifically impact on manufacturing companies based in the region, looking to address environmental impacts on their business.

MAS was established to help manufacturing businesses across England and Wales access affordable, practical manufacturing expertise with the aim of boosting efficiency and productivity levels. Launched in 2002, MAS is co-funded by the Department for Trade and Industry and the Regional Development Agencies in England and Wales.

The supported projects can cover a range of activities, from resource days, whereby a company gains access to ETCIC technology and expertise, through to more strategic projects, looking at longer-term environmental issues and remedies.

"Environmental issues are having an ever greater impact in manufacturing areas...", stated Peter Faccenda, Regional Manager for the MAS in Yorkshire. "We have found that sector specialists, particularly in environmental disciplines, are especially difficult to find. We are delighted that ETCIC has been approved to deliver our projects and hope to see a wider usage of ETCIC's services across our manufacturing companies", he added.
