ETCIC was delighted to host a visit by John Roberts on the first day of the Postgraduate Certificate in REACH Management on Monday 4 June 2007.

John is head of the Chemicals and Nanotechnologies division in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He is responsible for the framework for regulating the manufacture and use of chemicals which may be hazardous, including the new EU REACH regulation. He will be the UK member of the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency in Helsinki.

John led a workshop entitled 'Preparation for REACH - The Past, Present and Future'. Following his address, John stated, "I was delighted to have the opportunity to address the first delegates on the University of Hull's unique training course for REACH compliance. It is vital that industry receives high quality support to comply with REACH and I fully support this initiative."
