Linda McAvan MEP has joined the growing group of top-level academics, business people and politicians to give their backing to the Postgraduate Certificate in REACH Management.
As a representative of the East Riding of Yorkshire in the European Parliament, I was delighted to hear that the University of Hull and the Environmental Technologies Centre for Industrial Collaboration have become the first in Europe to launch an important new qualification.
I have no doubt that the new Postgraduate Course in REACH Management will be of enormous value to those responsible for managing their organisation's compliance with the REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) legislation.
The chemical industry is vitally important to our region, to the UK and to Europe as a whole and it is very good news that companies within this sector will get quality advice and guidance to help them comply with the new European legislation.
The launch of the Postgraduate Certificate in REACH Management is a excellent example of the UK leading the way in this vital area, and the proper implementation of REACH will reassure the community that the risks associated with chemicals are being addressed in a responsible manner.
I wish you every success with the launch of this important qualification.
