| REACH Management Training: What you need for successful implementation... |
The ChallengeThe new European Chemicals Regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals) went through its second reading in the European Parliament on December 13th 2006 and came into force on June 1st 2007. This will have an impact on not only chemical manufacturers but also chemical users, distributors and importers across the whole of the European Union. You cannot afford to ignore it! A simple summary of REACh is available to download by clicking here. Over 2.75 million pre-registrations demonstrate that the entire REACH process is not going to be as simple and straightforward as the authorities might have wished us to believe. The burden facing you in the industry is immense and a cost-effective compliance strategy should include some element of training and personal development. The unique Postgraduate Certificate In REACH Management launched in 2007 by ETCIC and the University of Hull has been extremely popular and attracted delegates from all over the world to do individual days, week-long modules and the entire course. The high quality residential course is now open for bookings in March and is now complimented by a distance learning option allowing delegates to take each module from their own location, thus reducing travel and accommodation costs as well as spreading the time burden. For ultimate flexibility delegates can mix and match residential and distance learning modules to qualify for the “Blended Learning” certificate. Each option has the same common taught modules: Module 1 – The REACH Basics Module 2 – Testing and Data Analysis - SIEF Technical Tools Module 3 - Exposure and Environmental Risk Assessment – SIEF Technical Tools Module 4 – Legal Issues, Authorisation and Business Preparation – SIEF Business Tools
