The issue of climate change is paramount to governments, business and members of the public alike.  Here in the East Yorkshire and Humber Region the scars of an unpredictable climate are still reverberating almost a year after floods devastated the region.  Legislation and working practices are swiftly being established to deal with climate change, and increasingly businesses are becoming embroiled in the complexities created by it.  The East Yorkshire and Humber Climate Conference is designed to demystify this increasingly complex field.  The ability to build sustainable business, and the climate are now inextricably linked, and a failure by business to appreciate this may have a negative impact on the sustainability of business and the environment.

Increasingly authorities and companies require tendering businesses to have environmental policies in place.  As a result, being environmentally friendly will generate business, build brand and reduce costs.

The waste management and recycling industry has seen an increase in workplace accidents and fatalities, resulting in increasing responsibilities on directors to protect their employees.  The conference will address the impact waste management  legislation has on business and the climate, as well as tackling the serious health and safety implications for employers and employees.

The conference will provide businesses with the information they really need in order to reduce their impact on the environment, effectively protect themselves and their employees, build good corporate governance and save money allowing reinvestment in their business.
